My name is Kimberley Skeels, and I am from Pembrokeshire in South West Wales. Currently, I am undertaking a Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Media Production at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, with an expected graduation date of 2026. My journey in the creative industries has been fueled by a lifelong passion for various artistic expressions, including traditional art, digital art, theatre, film, television, photography, and recently video editing. Additionally, I am passionate about storytelling, and as a filmmaker, I aim to help tell those stories.
My name is Kimberley Skeels, I am a passionate photographer and filmmaker from Pembrokeshire, South West Wales. From a young age, I have enjoyed being creative, whether through art and design, acting, or media. Creativity has always come naturally to me and has allowed me to express myself.
As a filmmaker, I aspire to use my skills to tell stories through visual media. I aim to tell compelling stories that resonate with the audience. Whether I am creating/working on factual content, such as thought-provoking documentaries that explore real-world issues and inspire change, or developing scripted films that delve into complex characters and intricate plots, my goal is to communicate powerful narratives.
I believe that the film, TV and photography industries are still predominantly male-dominated, and I want to represent the female filmmakers and photographers within these fields. I feel incredibly fortunate to be starting my professional career during a time when women have more opportunities and are almost on equal footing with men. Through my work, I hope to inspire young women to join and be a part of this industry.
When I was younger, I thought pursuing a career in film and TV was just a dream that would never come true. I felt this way for various reasons, including my background, being from Pembrokeshire, financial barriers, and the challenges of being a woman in this field. However, my university experience has allowed me to achieve many goals and turn my dream into a reality. I have come to realise that the obstacles I once viewed as barriers are not barriers anymore. With enthusiasm, passion, and determination, I can create a sustainable future in the film and TV industry for myself and others. I'm also very proud and fortunate that I am able to work in an industry that I have so much passion and love for.
